A little closer look at the White Trillium.
You didn't think I'd actually walk away without a closer macro shot did you? : )

@DTW: Thanks DTW!
That's pretty cool. I learned about that flower at a camp, haha. It was so fascinating because everything is in 3. =P

@Karen: Great symmetry with this flower!! Thanks for the visit and comment!
I think I like this one even more than the other one -it's colours are very soft, but the details are great - did you know this is the official flower of Ontario?

@Art Monkey: Thank you!!! : )
I read a bit on the web about the flower and that was one of the facts! This is the first time I have ever seen one! They really are beautiful!
Such crisp detail, you couldn't possible walk away without doing a close-up!!

@Bronnie: It was funny...I was by the side of this narrow mountain road, trying to get these shots with cars whizzing by...and on top of that I was right outside a tunnel and for some reason in that area they like to honk their horns while inside the tunnel...kept making me jump LOL
The things we do for a great shot! : D
At first glance I thought. Oh Oh! She's blowing out the highlights! But, as my eyes adjusted all that beautiful detail came in to focus in your highlights! Mid-tones and shadow detail are happening too! Your gettin awesome Jen!!!

@Craiger: = D Thank you so much Craig!
The sun and shadows were hitting it perfectly...right time...right place!
This is the better shot - it draws the viewer right into the heart of the flower. Yes, it looks like a lily we have here too. Beautiful macro!

@Sidonie: Thank you Sidonie!!
Black background makes a good contrast with this white flower. great macro. love lights from behind the flower.

@Yukie: The sun was hitting it just perfectly from behind!

@Behrooz: Me too! Thanks!
Jen, you are really tempting me so much to fork out couple of thousands to get a macro lens.... hahaha.... If you keep posting such wonderful macros, i would end up with a large hole in my pocket LOL ;-)
12 Apr 2007 5:20pm
@Rahul: : )
You are so kind Rahul!! I just love macro shots, can you tell? LOL
Please don't break your bank account!!! You have wonderful shots without it!!!
Looks like we are instant here... hehehe. Well i dont have to be an astrologer to tell that macro shots are love of your photography life. ;-)
12 Apr 2007 5:35pm
@Rahul: hahahaha!!!
That obvious huh? : )
You still are asking me if its obvious ?? ;) Ask yourself, btw whats on menu tomorrow ?? I bet its another macro LOL :) I would either have a big hole in my pockets or probably end up loosing the whole pant, in attempt to get a good macro lens hehehe... Ooooppppsss... ssshhhh nah wont go to that extent for the love of photography ;)
12 Apr 2007 6:14pm
@Rahul: Now Rahul I can't tell you...it would ruin the surprise!! : D
LOL, better watch those pants!
@Myst: Thank you very much Myst!
Wow, this one is really good, I prefer it better than the previous one. The lighting,details, shade, DOF, are all combined to a great photo!

@Richard_Irwin: Thank you Richard!
@Craig Persel: Thank you so much!!
I think this is getting enlarged and framed.
@Reza: It's just the dark ground below the flower...Thank you!!
Perfect lighting (or should I say lucky lighting.. lol), the black background brings a good contrast and I'm sure if it is all black and without 'a small cut off' on the lower petal, it will double its beauty.
13 Apr 2007 2:06am
@ajoeh: right place, right time!
I truly wish I had gotten that little piece in the picture...oh well, lesson learned right?
Gorgeous, especially the white glow in the right upper leaf makes it un-earthy.
14 Apr 2007 6:48pm
@Erik Tjallinks: Hi Erik!
Thank you!
I love the way the petal on the upper right gently bends toward the camera, affecting the shading down the petal.

@Mike Cash: Thanks Mike!
I just love the beauty natural sunlight can create!
@Alain: Thank you Alain!
