Half Moon

I know the image is a bit grainy, but this is the first really detailed moon image I have ever gotten, so I decided to post it anyway!
So there! LOL!!

I agree with everyone - this is a FANTASTIC shot and who cares if it is a bit grainy. The beauty of the moon takes the stage!

Stunning Jen the details are incredible.
I'll be out in the wee hours of the morning trying to capture the eclipse, although the past week we have had a crystal clear night sky, it's not looking too good for tonight though!

@MaryB: I got some shots, but none of the total eclipse...the clouds rolled in and I couldn't get a decent shot.
I'm trying to get a collage together to post of the phases I did catch.

Absolutely superb detail Jen! My oh My! That new lens must be really something to get the moon so BIG!! I was watching the Seattle Fox news yesterday and they were all ready with a clear sky to watch the full eclipse on this coast. Anyway, I couldn't even see the moon, let alone the eclipse to photograph - so much cloud! So you might well say "So there" !!!!! I'm miffed! Then we had a brilliant green flash of light - right into my bedroom night before. The had pics on the news channels - it was a meteor that exploded! Sure couldn't get out of bed to investigate fast enough - never in the right place at the right time it seems! ;-()

Jen, this the very best shot I've seen of the recent lunar eclipse.
NOW I know what my camera is capable of ... just have to get the user trained!!! *smile*
