tyan from Singaporepardon me but i couldnt help noticing the lush green behind it!:) 17 Aug 2007 6:59am @tyan: Isn't it great to see GREEN? I bet it's gorgeous in the fall when the leaves change! MaryB from Staffordshire, United KingdomLove the way you've captured the light on the rust, it gives it a lovely colour against the wonderfully fresh green in the background :) 17 Aug 2007 7:25am @MaryB: Thanks Mary! Anne from White Rock, BC Canada, CanadaHad a look at the photo previous and its lovely with its reflections. The blend of colors (even if some of it is rust) is really nice :-) Thanks for giving the history too - it makes photos like these two so much more interesting. 17 Aug 2007 9:35am @Anne: Considering half the bridge was gone I thought it needed an explanation LOL! Thanks Anne...I need to go back when the sun is shining and it is not 100+ degrees out. Nick from Oxford, United StatesNice colors. The rust and the greens are fantastic. 17 Aug 2007 11:17am @Nick: Thanks Nick! Lorraine from CanadaStriking composition, both colour and texture really compliment one another, nature and nurture ;) 17 Aug 2007 12:49pm Viewfinder from Bradenton, United StatesGood capture Jen. This gets us a lot closer to what made this bridge tick when it was a whole bridge; structural steel is pretty strong stuff, even with a rust coat on it. 17 Aug 2007 2:25pm @Viewfinder: Just a shame they can't do something with it. eureka from Boston, United Statesbeautiful contrast between nature and the bridge. and wow, that is a lot of rust. 17 Aug 2007 2:36pm The Frame from Visakhapatnam, IndiaThe Lush Green BG highlighted the bridge. Its quite a good shot. 17 Aug 2007 2:54pm Dawn Sutherland from Phoenix, United StatesRusty indeed but it makes for a great image!!! 17 Aug 2007 3:24pm Laurie from New Jersey, United StatesNice detail. That is really rusty. Is it still in service? 17 Aug 2007 4:05pm @Laurie: Thanks Laurie...but no it's not in service, half of the bridge was removed in the middle of the night many years ago...they have no idea who did it. Sherri from Little Rock, Arkansas, United StatesI really like this one. Most interesting idea and it looks to be a lovely place. 17 Aug 2007 4:05pm Michael Keith from Toccoa, United StatesI really like the angles created in this shot. Good perspective. 17 Aug 2007 4:46pm Rebecca from Leicester, United KingdomLove the beautiful earthy colours of that rust (never thought the day would come when I would 'love' rust! :) lol) , complementing the verdant green surroundings. Although the angles are still striking, suddenly this 'manmade' structure doesn't look that 'manmade'/'out of place' in those surroundings at all. Fantastic composition, Jen! 17 Aug 2007 4:53pm @Rebecca: Thank you very much Rebecca!!! : ) Rebel Streetshooter from Big Apple, United StatesJen, IMO this is a superb shot. :-) 17 Aug 2007 6:30pm @Rebel Streetshooter: Thank you so much Rebel!! Rags from Plano, United StatesGreat image. It's funny how rust can be thought of as a bad thing yet seem so nice in a photograph. 17 Aug 2007 10:12pm @Rags: So very true!!! @M.E.: Thanks M.E.!!!!!!!!!!! aggie from Singapore, SingaporeThe contract between the rust colour and the green in the background enhances an already great shot. Well done! 18 Aug 2007 4:40am crash from NYC Metro, United Statescool rustic tones to the bridge ... feels like autumn! 18 Aug 2007 1:00pm kairospix from Singapore, Singaporewonderful contrast between the reddish rust and the lush green! 18 Aug 2007 1:32pm @kairospix: Thanks! FrannyC from NewYork, United StatesBeautiful capture lines, lighting perspective, and color, of course. 18 Aug 2007 9:56pm @FrannyC: What a wonderful analogy!!! Thanks Franny! |
