I know I said yesterday was the last of the lighthouse series, but I came across this one and only good shot I got of the Cockspur Lighthouse that is located near Ft. Pulaski. The only way to get to the lighthouse is by boat and I did not get a chance to do that. : ( I took this shot at the top of Ft. Pulaski leaning on one of cannons on display.
8/18/08 - I will out of pocket for a while. My laptop is having issues and I need to get it over to a service center to fix it. I hope it doesn't take too long to get it fixed. Wish me luck!

Hey Jen, I'm first 'cause I'm up so late surfing the blogs... pitiful actually... that I'm up so late, not the shot. LOL This is a great shot. The foreground to background with the lighthouse in the middle gives it a great 3D effect. The greens are gorgeous against the white of the lighthouse. Ok, time to go to bed!!!

@amy: I certainly hope you got some sleep!!! Thanks for the EARLY visit : )

Brilliant, I love lighthouses, they are so simple but so beautiful at the same time. :)

@MaryB: Thanks Mary...there are so many different angles of a lighthouse, the images (I think) are endless.
Lush greenery, very soothing. (:

Nice composition and nice use of foreground. I like the shades of green.

Nice contrast between the foreground and the background. And also a very cute lighthouse :)
@Gnarf: Thanks Gnarf!
Another beautiful shot and again I love lighthouses and so glad to see them preserved.

@Sherri: Me Too!!!
I've seen this this light house in real time; you've taken the best shot of it, ever. Not an easy one to approach. This is wonderful. What kind of zoom or telephoto are you using here?

@Viewfinder: Thank you so much Viewfinder!!! I have a 10x zoom on my Kodak...comes in handy sometimes ; )
beautiful.

Ft Pulaski, one of the few Civil War sites I missed when I lived back East. Other than photography, Civil War history is my passion in life. That poor fort had the heck kicked out of it by the Union ironclads' artillery. So much for Savanah as a port for the Confederacy.
Looks like taking this pic was a bit awkward... that's what I call determination :) Good shot.

@MontereyJohn: We stayed for the movie at the visitors center and it was amazing how the Union army snuck on them via Tybee.
Yeah that's me...if I see that shot I gotta get it!!! : )
Wow this lighhouse series is real cool. I wil work on this too, let me go and dig out some lighthouses here in Malaysia. Havent seen even one until todate though hehehe.... They make real cool pics and sure lotsa opportunity to PS them. ;-)

I saw your lighthouses, they are wonderful. I find it such a pity that modern navigation technology many (if not most) lighthouses are becoming superfluous, at least in my country they have become "industrial monuments" only maintained as museum pieces, not as beackons for ships anymore. They are so beautiful, they share this fate with my windmills.

@Erik: Thank you Erik. They really are so beautiful and unique
Oh I forgot, I'll publish soon a light house from my country but I have to scan it first it's not digital.
