Chive Buds

My chives made it through the winter!!
I truly thought they were long gone last fall after a bad dry spell...so I let the pot sit in the garden over the winter and figured I would toss the old dirt in the spring. Amazingly enough they started to grow again and low and behold it looks like it's going to bloom!! Mother Nature is so wonderful : D

i thought they were pink tulips initially. haha.

Wonderful capture Jen, more of a portrait there with crisp foreground and all blur background, nice shot. Mother nature is indeed wonderful and mysterious at times. ;-)

@Rahul: I used the dry brush filter in ps...I like the way it turned out like a painting instead of a picture.

I kept doing the traditional ps work and it just wasn't working so I started playing with different filters and WaaLaa here she is! : )

Whatever that is in the background blurred out just perfectly for this photo! It really sets off the foreground in a way that is often impossible in flower shots.

@Mike Cash: It was the siding and concrete on my house...I really like the effect the dry brush filter gave the buds, feels more like a painting than a photo.
