This is the view from the parking lot at Clingmans Dome. It was quite foggy and chilly that morning and also quite crowded too so we passed on the walk up and took a drive to Cataloochee instead, which was well worth it! (you'll see later).
This is about an elevation of 5500 ft and as you can see is a spectacular view!!
I appreciate each and every visit and each and every comment...Thank you!

It stirs my heart to see such a beautiful scene of my native state, Tennessee, which is where God is from, by the way.
8 Apr 2007 12:39am
@Mike Cash: You are from Tennessee??? Near the Smokies or elsewhere?...I grew up for the most part in Memphis.
Hey Jen, I love the tonality, wow!

@Vahid: Thank you Vahid!
Awesome shot, from one of the few places in the South where buildings don't encroach on the hillsides. I like how the angle of the clouds mirros that of the left slope.

@Ken McCoy: It's amazing the expanse of open space...it's so wonderful : )
Memphis? That makes you my homegirl! I'm from Humboldt, next burg north of Jackson.
13 Apr 2007 5:04am
@Mike Cash: No way!!!! That was just a hop, skip and jump away!!! Do you get to go back much? My Dad, brother and sister still live in Memphis and I try to get back every few years if I can. It really is a small small world!!
I've stood on this spot of ground too many times to count. The first time was as a child and it never grows old. I love the mountains and what a beautiful photo.
30 May 2007 12:29pm
@Sherri: I could have stood there forever just gazing at the mountains!
