Jen's Dandelion

For most people a dandelion is a huge eyesore on their lawn, flower bed, etc. but to me it's a beautiful wild/weed flower and as a kid I used to blow the little wispy pieces away and make a wish! (okay I still do that)

Close your eyes and make a wish! = D

I will be back tomorrow and I can't wait to see all the great images I have missed while I was gone...AND I can't wait to share all my new images from the Great Smoky Mountains!!

haha,yeah i remember i did that too- blow the little wispy pieces away but i didn't make a wish,but it was amazing to see how they floated off with the wind ! Can't wait your new images from the Great Smoky Mountains!!

Great composition Jen. Dandelion is a rare thing here where I live and finding one is a very happy moment for a child, or probably was. We practically never see one stuck to the ground. Every now and then the wind brings one in.
Waiting to see the smokes! ;))

When I was a child I also thought dandelions were great, and had fun blowing them and watching the seeds lightly sail away....much to the chagrin of my parents, of course. I never understood how anyone could not appreciate the beauty of a lawn covered over with white puffy dandelions, or how they could not understand the fun of doing a run-shuffle through the yard and stirring up a cloud of seeds. It was quite a shock to learn that the dandelion is a weed, and it caused me to develop my own definition of "weed": "A weed is a flower that nobody loves".

@Mike Cash: One of the best thing to do as a kid...a cloud of puffy seeds everywhere!!!! : ) (of course the other was to jump in the freshly raked pile of leaves)
