Dan Meyers from Macomb, United StatesThis is amazing work. Awesome. I do wonder how to go about getting rid of the circular spot on the lower left. I have that in some of my landscape macros and do not know how to get rid of it. 22 Mar 2007 5:19am @Dan Meyers: I wondered about it too, but I had no idea how to get rid of it, so it stayed. Why is it falling apart? You're 100% right about great colours though! I love the contrast of the sky. 22 Mar 2007 11:13am @jennifer radio: good question...all I really know is that the layers peel away as it matures and exposes the white bark, the bark apparently can be used for all kinds of things : ) bronzebilly u.k. from cardiff, United Kingdomyou've done it again--to most people it's a flakey tree bark--however,when seen through your peepers it's a piece of art--fabiosa--clever clogs--billy 22 Mar 2007 12:22pm @bronzebilly u.k.: My peepers find the darndest things don't they = D Manuela Photography from Hainburg (near Frankfurt/Main), GermanyWow! I love the contrasting blue colour. Again a remarkable picture of a normal subject. 22 Mar 2007 3:20pm @Yvon: Thank you very much Yvon! Stu from Kyoto, JapanWould never have guessed this was a tree, Jen! Looks like the pages of an ancient book all ripped and worn. Very cool shot with amazing colours, light and textures. Really effective with that blurry background blueness too! 22 Mar 2007 4:45pm @Stu: I like your description! Thank you for your visits and nice comments Stu! @Myst: I took quite a few shots...hard not too. Thank you! DTW from Orlando, United StatesThe color looks great! I wish it was in my yard!! : D @Still: Thank you so much!! Art Monkey from Salt Spring Island, CanadaI love it - I think if you look close enough it almost becomes human - outspread arms and a ripped shirt! 22 Mar 2007 8:49pm @Art Monkey: Thank you! Great job! 23 Mar 2007 2:48am Oz from Eugene, United StatesVery beautiful picture, the colors are amazing. If you are having trouble with lens flare you might try getting or making a shield to keep the suns rays from hitting the surface of the lens directly when aiming toward the sun, (or just use your hand taking care that it doesn't get in the picture) although I don't necessarily find it objectionable. 23 Mar 2007 4:12am @Oz: Thanks Oz! Wayne from Melbourne, Australianicely done! I love the rich and varied hues at play in the photo...and I think its wonderful to be able to bear witness to a tree as it develops in sync with one's life =). I remember I used to water a specific tree on my water to school and back from it...from when it was a weee seedling to the time it was a young sapling to a relatively sturdy tree...unfortunately it got torn down to make a child-safe playground (the ones with the shock absorbing foam base) but that's life in fast-paced Singapore for you =D 23 Mar 2007 5:49pm @Wayne: I think nature is simply amazing! Mike Cash from Kiryu, JapanI never would have noticed the lens flare had it not been pointed out in the comments. That's a very stunning photo. I love how the light shines through the semi-translucent bark. 25 Mar 2007 12:42pm |
